To get your hands into C position place your finger furthest to the left on the note C. This means your right hand thumb will be on C and your left hand pinky will be on C. In terms of playing note durations on the piano, you will need to remember the following: The quarter notes gets one beat, the half notes gets two beats, the dotted half note gets three beats, and the whole note gets four beats. When you play a series of note durations on the piano, this is called a rhythm. A time signature and measures are needed to break the music up into organized pieces.
