By the end of this easy lesson for beginners, you will have insight on the free resources that are out there that can help you learn and practice piano online. These include practice exercises, lessons, and sheet music.
You can learn even more about piano and music from my website http://www.pianolessonsontheweb.com
Musictheory.net - This website is one of my favorites for free practice exercises and lessons. The lessons are pretty bare bones with text and images, but do a good job of explaining the basic concepts behind music theory. You can learn about the staff, clefs, ledger lines, note durations, measures, time signatures and the most basic things you need to know in the beginning stages of learning piano. The cool thing is you can download the free apps so you can take your learning on the go. Also included are great exercises, which are especially helpful if you are learning how to read music or identify intervals. Musictheory.net is highly recommended for beginner piano students.
Teoria.com is another great website that is more geared toward practice tools than the lessons themselves. It has a lot of exercises that musictheory.net doesn't have.
YouTube
YouTube is another great website to learn piano and music. There are a few great channels out there and here is what I recommend.
LessonsOnTheWeb (my channel)
I think my channel is the best for beginners who are looking for a straightforward course to help them learn piano. I recommend starting with the Beginners Start Here Playlist then work your way through lessons playlist 2, 3, 4, etc. These days I make lessons on topics requested by my community. If you are interested in attending our community live streams, check out our community page: https://goo.gl/RIZtqZ
Lypur’s (Andrew) Channel: https://goo.gl/as0SrG
PianoTV (Allysia) : https://goo.gl/VWX7gD
Online Piano and Violin Tutor (Alison) : https://goo.gl/WzonUA
